Now that Valentines Day has passed it’s time for a new homepage theme on our Chicago Party DJ website. This month we’re getting a little luck of the Irish in celebrating St. Patrick’s Day 2011.
This is kind of ironic though because after chatting with a few of our DJs this morning, we realized that none of us are actually Irish. That’s kind of disappointing, but just like the rest of Chicago that’s not going to stop us from celebrating this holiday!

Every once and awhile it’s fun to share some pictures from our recent events. This week we thought we’d share some amazing photos from Aaron & Becky Powell’s Oakbrook Wedding Reception that occurred on January 8th, 2011. This reception was held at Maggianos in Oakbrook and the photographer behind the lens was Billy Rood from Fig Media. Check these out! They’re absolutely amazing!

We’ve successfully finished the first month of January 2011 and boy was it a busy one! Usually January is the time of year when us Chicago Wedding DJs go into hibernation. There typically aren’t too many weddings, very few social events and very rarely a school dance. Thankfully though this January was not the norm! We started the year off strong with a great Oakbrook Wedding out at Maggianos in Oakbrook, Illinois. This wedding was for Aaron & Becky Powell. If you get a chance be sure to check out our Chicago Wedding DJ blog. We’ve got a bunch of information on this reception and even a fun Oakbrook Wedding Video showcasing the night.
Over the next couple of weeks our Chicago DJs were also out busy rocking several middle schools and high schools including Catherine Cook, James Hart and Illiana Christian High School. If that wasn’t enough, we even had the opportunity to work with several local park districts including the Palos Heights Recreation Department, the Elmhurst Recreation Department and even the South Side Parks and Recreation of Chicago. Lots of fun events and plenty of work to keep our records turning!
We then wrapped up the month with a Homer Glen Wedding. This wedding was for Jake & Jessica Tibstra and it was held at the beautiful Dinolfos Banquets in Homer Glen, Illinois. If you get a chance be sure to watch Jake & Jessica’s Homer Glen Wedding Video. It was a totally unique wedding and there are a few surprises worth watching!

December is about to come to a close here at the Operation Getdown office and it’s been another great month/year. It’s been a month filled with weddings, corporate Christmas parties, birthday celebrations and even a few school dances. Lots of variety and that’s always been something that we love about our profession!
There has also been quite a few updates on our Chicago Wedding DJ site. In case you missed it, we’ve posted several new Jam Cam videos that you have to see; including a Lemont Wedding Video and a Mokena Wedding Video. Both of these receptions were a total blast and we highly recommend you check them out. Our clients have always had great style so we thought it’d be fun to showcase some of their recent December weddings. These videos will also give you a sneak peak into the Dinolfos Banquet Hall and even the Cog Hill Banquet Facility. Very cool!

As we ponder on this past year though, we want to take a moment to thank you; our previous clients, family, friends and vendors for all of your support and kindness you’ve shown to us over this year. Without you, 2010 would not have been the same. From the bottom of our hearts we want to say thank you! We’re looking forward to another great year and lots more exciting weddings, school dances and private parties. 2011 here we come! Happy New Years!

It’s not too often that we post too many pictures here on our Chicago DJ blog, but this week we thought it’d be fun to share a quick photo. For those of you that didn’t catch it. Our owner, Stevie Dee, was recently engaged! We’ve all been pretty excited about it and we thought it would be fun to share one of their recent engagement photos (without asking his permission of course) haha. This was kind of an impromptu picture but their photographers didn’t let the moment pass bye.

Love is in the air here at the Operation Getdown office! That’s right over Labor Day weekend DJ Stevie Dee, one of our Chicago Wedding DJs, and his girlfriend Kaitlyn Lyzenga got engaged!
We just wanted to congratulate these two on the blog and wish them both the best of luck! After 11 years and nearly 140 Chicago Weddings, Stevie Dee now has the opportunity to plan his own. With all of the excitement everyone is already wondering who is going to be the DJ at Steve and Kaitlyn’s reception?
Only time will tell! Be sure to stay tuned to the Chicago Wedding DJ blog. We’re currently juggling around the idea of doing a VLOG of these two as they search for their Chicago Banquet Hall and plan their exciting reception. We’ll keep ya updated! That’s all for now. Have a great week!
