It’s 2012 and that means it’s time for an upgrade on some of our popular Chicago DJ Lighting Packages. This week we’ve done an entire overhaul on our popular LED Light Towers. This upgrade will make our lights brighter, taller and more visually striking at your event. This new burst of energetic lighting will enhance your event and help create a whimsical mood that you and your guests will adore! Pair these with popular Chicago Uplighting or Northwest Indiana Uplighting and you’ll be on your way!
If that’s not enough, we’ve also added real “air-raid” fire engine sirens for those occasional moments when we need a burst of energy from you and your guests. We’ve installed these mostly for our school dance clients, but on occasion they might come in handy for a few weddings (used sparingly of course!).
Stay tuned to our Chicago DJ blog over the next couple of months. We’ve got several new exciting announcements coming soon! Also don’t forget to check out our new sister company Kait Rose Event Lighting.
On January 14th, 2012 our Chicago Quinceanera DJ staff was on location at the Tinley Park VFW Hall for Melissa B’s birthday bash. This event had about 125 guests in attendance and it was a non-stop party from start to finish. Check out this exciting video below to get an inside peak into all the festivities!
Engagement season is upon us here in Chicago and we would like to extend best wishes to all the newly engaged couples out there. We congratulate you both for your love and togetherness, and wish you peaceful and wonderful times ahead in life. May God bless both of you with warmth and care!

Have you ever wondered what the best wedding introduction of 2011 would look like? Stevie Dee, owner of Operation Getdown, thought he’d put his skills to the test and try to come up with something original and creative. This is the video from his Northwest Indiana Wedding introduction which took place on April 16th, 2011.
The recipe for this wild introduction included actual footage from the Chicago Bulls starting lineup, a 15′ jumbotron, computerized lighting, lots of speakers and a wild and crazy bridal party.
Special thanks to Josh Siegers from JKS Productions for filming and editing this little video.
So we happened to be reading the Chicago Tribune the other day and we stumbled upon this cool article featuring the Palos Heights Jr. High Mixer dances. This article talks about how teen dances are on the rise once again. It also has a little blurb about Stevie Dee, one of our Chicago School Dance DJs. If you get an opportunity check out Greg Meyer’s article on Trib Local.
After 185 wedding receptions long time Chicago Wedding DJ, Stevie Dee, gets the opportunity to relax and enjoy his own wedding celebration. That’s right Stevie Dee is officially tying the knot today at 6:30pm in Dyer, Indiana. Congrats to him and Kaitlyn as they celebrate their love and union!
Please note: Since the couple will be out of town for their honeymoon, the Operation Getdown office will be closed the week of April 16th-25th. Thank you for your patience. We’ll see you all in a week!
P.S. We’ll also be sure to post a Jam Cam video once the couple returns. Lots of exciting things happening at this reception!
Greetings again from our Chicago DJ offices! We hope this blog post finds you well. As most of you, we are desperately anticipating the warmth of spring. Things have been relatively uneventful around our offices and until the spring comes it’s most likely going to stay that way. The influx of consultations have begun to slow as the Christmas engagement season has come and gone. We’re now in revamp mode for our Summer Chicago Weddings. The first big day is April 30th, 2011 and it’ll be non-stop busyness until the end of the year.
Although, things have been somewhat slow there are still some updates we’d love to share with you. In case you missed it on our Chicago Wedding DJ blog we had the opportunity to work with quite a few new clients this past March. One of those couples was Andrew & Celena DeYoung (Minetti). Their reception was held on March 19th, 2011 at the Palos Country Club in Orland Park, Illinois. If you’d like to get a sneak peak into their wedding reception be sure to check out their Orland Park Wedding Video. It was such a fun reception and lots of energy for a daytime reception!
Stay tuned to our Chicago DJ Blog over the next couple of months. We have several new blog posts to come. Until then, have a great spring!
